Art And Music

Frank McEntire, born 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas, is well know in Utah as an independent curator, arts administrator, and writer, including regular reviews as the former art critic of The Salt Lake Tribune and Salt Lake Magazine. His sculptural works have been featured in several publications and shown in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. Discarded religious objects become "stand-ins" for social values in McEntire's work, found materials altered into something other than their originally intended use. Such Juxtapositions and reconfiguration reframe imagery as commentary issues, often with subtle humor.

Retirement Guide

"This guide for retirement planning provides easy-to-follow information about retirement, controlling finances, budgeting and news. It will be a place to come back to often as you think about retirement. It is for young people who are thinking far ahead to their retirement; It is for people who think they may have started too late to plan for a good retirement, and it is for people who are already retired and want to know how to manage their retirement." Peter Saunders—retired IT specialist

"I am 67 years old (2016) and have cerebral microvascular disease, after Alzheimer’s the second leading cause of dementia. This website tells—through my published writing, a film series by VideoWest, and a blog titled “Dementia Field Notes”—how I perceive my “self” as the disease continues to diminish my identity. By publicly sharing who I am and how I feel about it, I hope to help lift the shame and fear still associated with dementia. If someone you love has dementia, I hope that my website might help you better understand the view from inside." Gerda Saunders is a retired Associate Director of the University of Utah, Gender Studies Department.
