My simplistic interpretation of Sir Isaac Newton's first law of motion is: "Objects, emotions, thoughts, feelings, elections, politics, public speaking, power-point presentations, poor bosses, etc. tend to keep doing what they're doing until something forces change in trajectory or momentum.
